Jack Oliver studied law at the University of East Anglia and graduated in 2019. Jack then went onto obtain his LPC with LLM from the University of Law with distinction, graduating in 2021.
Jack completed his two-year training contract with Hill & Abbott before joining Pinney Talfourd in November 2021.
Jack worked in general litigation when transferring to Pinney Talfourd, covering commercial litigation disputes to personal injury claims.
Since joining Pinney Talfourd Jack has specialised in property litigation.

- Acting for estates when beneficiaries are refusing to vacate the estate’s property when the sale is needed to settle the estate’s debts.
- Acting for landlords who had set up informal tenancies with friends and families who require specialist advice to be able to pursue possession of their properties through Section 8 and Section 21 routes.
- Acting for property owners who have had their properties broken into and acquired by “squatters”.
- Advising landlords in simple Section 8 and Section 21 routes to recover possession of the property in the quickest time possible.
- Acting for leaseholders in relation to both voluntary and statutory leasehold extensions. Working with surveyors to ensure the leaseholder is paying a fair price to extend their leasehold interest.

- Advising client who had found that his conveyancers had not properly transferred the parcels of land that made up his property at the purchase. Advising on possible adverse possession claim and subsequent advice when it was revealed the land in question had been subject to escheat.
- Acting for client who had owned their property before registration and a mistake had been made by HM Land Registry in registering the true extent of their property. Including in depth review of historic conveyances and deeds to evidence the true extent of their property.
- Advising both residential landlords and tenants on issues ranging from disrepair to rent increases and HMO Licence disputes.
- Advising both commercial landlords and tenants on issues ranging from break clauses to dilapidations and recovery of unpaid rent.
