Pinney Talfourd opened its doors and books for a fun-filled day of storytelling, dressing up and arts and crafts in support of SNAP. We take a look back on what was a lovely day for all.
Although the rain tried its hardest to dampen our spirits, yesterday saw our doors open at 10 am to a spritely crowd of children ready to sit down and listen to an animated adventure to help raise funds for our Charity of the Year, SNAP.
Our readers dressed up for the occasion with costumes kindly lent by Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch and included colleagues and contacts alike, with local librarian Noreen and SNAP Ambassador Nicola Hitchcock joining in on the fun.
We hosted a colouring corner for children whose session was yet to start, with some fantastic creations made, ranging from blossoming butterflies to geometric giraffes! We also ran a prize raffle draw, with a wonderful variety of vouchers, toys and colouring books kindly donated by the likes of Creams, Costa, Chicken and Frog Bookshop and Essex Audi.
Overall the day was a roaring success, with many children staying for numerous sessions whilst we raised a huge amount of awareness for all the great work that SNAP does for local families, and also raised some money for their cause, too!
